Play Date to Date Night Review: Isle of Summer Robes

What better way to celebrate the end of the week than with a Play Date to Date Night! Lordy knows it’s hard enough to find the time to get out the house sans children for a date with your partner, so I’m here to make life easier for you by showing you how to take one of these gorgeous Isle of Summer robes from Play Date to Date Night! I’m wearing a size M (12/14) in the Robes, and could definitely have sized down to a S if I wanted a more slimline look, the beauty of these designs is you can size up or down depending on how you like to wear it!

PLAY DATE:

Do you ever feel like you need a little extra coverage, or something extra so that you don’t feel blah when you’re at home? Maybe you want a pop of colour, or something to throw on when the postman rings your doorbell (especially if you’re breastfeeding, amiright!), something feminine and soft and easy to wear. The Short Robe is perfect for that, additional coverage and easy to wear. Plus look at that divine print! I’ve styled it over denim shorts and a singlet, pretty much my home uniform! You can see even just by tying the robe how much dressier it is, you could just swap the jean shorts for jeans and tie the robe to make it dressier but I’ll show you a different Date Night style…

DATE NIGHT:

So maybe I’m cheating a little by showing you the Long Robe for Date Night, but how could I not! The stunning print is on a khaki background (both lengths are available in navy and khaki) and I think in the long version you can really feel the inspiration Emily had from Japanese Kimonos shine through. I’ve kept the base of my outfit black and streamlined, creating length and not competing with the gorgeous print and colour of the kimono. While relaxed, the sleeves and cut of the Robe keep it structured enough to not overwhelm your shape, while the beautiful soft fabric flows and drapes beautifully. You could even belt the robe and wear it as a dress!

Yes these garments are gorgeous. Yes they’re amazing quality. Yes the business is owned by a Brisbane Mama. But do you know what REALLY makes Isle of Summer special? The ethics and sustainability model they have in place. On their website it says ” we believe that no person, especially women and children, should be disadvantaged in the manufacturing of our clothing”. Isle of Summer manufactures their clothing in Bali, source sustainable fabrics, and more… read about it here on their website. When I received my parcel the post satchel was made from biodegradable materials, there was minimal packaging and the robes themselves came in a cotton bag (not plastic). It is amazing to know that Emily really is practising what she preaches in every way she possibly can.

Have you heard of Isle of Summer before? Which Robe is your favourite?
